A professional association accident clinic is a special hospital for the medical treatment of the consequences of occupational accidents . The providers of statutory accident insurance are the employers' liability insurance associations , which for this purpose founded the BG Kliniken - Clinic Association of Statutory Accident Insurance gGmbH in 2016 .
Already in the 19th century were z. B. the Bergmannsheil in Bochum in 1890 as the first accident hospital in the world and shortly afterwards the Bergmannstrost in Halle (Saale) in connection with the care of injured miners.
Range of activities
The main discipline of the specialist traumatology clinics is surgery . All acute injuries and their consequences are treated . These can occur after work or traffic accidents. Due to the surgical capacities and experiences, chronic joint diseases or worn shoulder, hip, knee and ankle joints are also treated.
