aims

As organ specialist medical professional association of BVDD represents the specific interests of its members as part of the medical self-government in the political arena, the health institutions - especially in medical associations and physicians' associations - and in public.

The BVDD is a member of the National Association of Specialists in Germany (SpiFa) and thus supports the concerns of medical specialists in Germany.

structure

Any dermatologist or dermatologist in further training can become a full member of the association upon request. Organs of the association are the board of directors, the executive board, the assembly of delegates, the advisory board and the honorary council . The BVDD pursues the further training offers of the association as well as its occupational and health policy goals nationwide in 17 state associations and even in the regional KV districts.

German Dermatological Academy (DDA)

The BVDD and the German Dermatological Society (DDG) support the German Dermatological Academy (DDA). The DDA pursues the goal of promoting the further development of the subject and of further developing the quality of the dermatological profession through further training and quality assurance.

Working group JuDerm

Based on the aspect of the shortage of doctors that in the future more and more medical practices , especially in rural areas, will close without a successor, the BVDD asks how dermatological care can be secured in Germany in the future, especially in rural areas. Therefore, at the beginning of 2011, the working group (Young Dermatologists) came together. Their tasks are supportive and informative activities. In order to reduce prejudices and fears about a possible settlement, it is essential to provide information about the work-life balance with resident dermatologists. Transparency in financial issues is also to be increased in order to enable a realistic and secure starting point for a branch. Support measures for general practitioners in the start-up phase are offered in the form of a mentoring program . This also applies to support in taking over existing medical practices.

Prevention and public relations

The public relations work of the BVDD focuses on health education and information on the subject of skin and skin protection . Skin cancer prevention and early detection are the thematic focuses of the Euromelanoma Week, which takes place every year in May. The BVDD works closely with the European Academy for Dermatology and Venereology , which prepares and coordinates this campaign across Europe.

The UV-Check, a free service offered by the BVDD to determine the skin's self-protection time from harmful UV radiation, is also dedicated to skin cancer prevention. The project, which has been operated for ten years in cooperation with the German Aerospace Center , can be used as an app or as an information portal on the subject of skin cancer via the Internet.

The BVDD supports World Psoriasis Day in cooperation with the German Dermatological Society and the “Center for Health Services Research in Dermatology” at the UKE as well as the German Psoriasis Association , with the aim of sustainably improving the medical care of psoriasis .

Every year in November, the nationwide action week "Skin & Job" takes place, the topic of which is skin diseases as occupational diseases and in which the BVDD participates in a consortium with other specialist organizations, employers' liability insurance associations and the statutory accident insurance and is involved in implementation.
