Beschorneria rigida is a species of the genus Beschorneria in the subfamily of the agave family (Agavoideae). The specific epithet rigida comes from Latin , means 'stiff' and refers to the leaves of the species.
description
Beschorneria rigida grows without a trunk. The numerous upright and rather stiff leaves are roughened on both sides. Your leaf blade is 30 inches long and up to 2 inches wide. It narrows into the long, pointed tip. The 45 millimeter long flowers are arranged in groups of two to four. Their somewhat rough, cloudy tepals are usually greenish yellow. The stamens are shorter than the tepals.
The elongated fruits measure 3 centimeters and contain black seeds .
Systematics and distribution
Beschorneria rigida is common in the Mexican states of Guanajuato , Puebla , San Luis Potosí and Tamaulipas .
The first description by Joseph Nelson Rose was published in 1909. Beschorneria rigida is not well known.
