The care combi or, according to the BBK, formerly also care combi ( BtKombi ) is a disaster and civil protection vehicle that mainly transports material and personnel for the care of affected but uninjured people in the event of a major damage or disaster . It is part of the care service . A care combination is named after the size of a combination . Sometimes a care combination is also referred to as a care vehicle ( BtKW ) or, due to its construction concept, as a team transport vehicle care ( MTW Bt ). The internal term combi social care is largely out of date.

tasks

The care combination is primarily used as a vehicle in the care train for care situations. This includes the social care of those affected, the construction and operation of emergency shelters as well as catering for those affected and emergency services. Essentially, the care combination transports the personnel and equipment required for this. As a rule, it is supplemented by a care truck.

Other possible uses are, for example:

  • Mobile dispensing point for the distribution of food, clothing and other relief items to those affected and emergency services
  • Towing vehicle for water transport trailers and field cookers and other material trailers
  • Lead vehicle during operations
  • Vehicle for guiding population movements
  • Transport of uninjured - but not able to walk - people.

Paging name

In the bad radio there is no single radio call. The paging names are very different in the respective countries.

standardization

There is no standardization according to DIN. The BBK regulates the structure and loading of the vehicle by means of data sheets and equipment lists and, as part of its equipment supplement, delivers care packages to the aid organizations involved in disaster control. Care combinations procured through state funds or by the aid organizations themselves may differ from the federal funding .

The information on the loaded load corresponds to the basic equipment of the federal government. It is usually supplemented in different ways. The vehicles generally have a special signal system, a loudspeaker system and a radio for BOS radio . The following table compiles an excerpt from the federal charge for certain care combinations (BA no .: 1014/03):

part number
Two-way radio 4 m 1
Announcement system 1
NBC protection equipment 12
Hand megaphone , electric 2
Fire blanket 6th
Medical shoulder bag according to DIN 13160 3
Foil barrier tape 3 (at 500 m)
Spare wheel 1
Vehicle first aid kit 1
Spade short 1

history

Care combos have existed in extended disaster control since the 1970s . In the past, however, they were mostly referred to as combi social care. The chassis usually came from Ford ( Transit ) and Volkswagen ( Transporter T2, T3 and T4). Material from the care service such as tents, cooking utensils, etc. was carried on trucks in the care train. These were also used as towing vehicles for the field cookers .

The station wagons were in the groups “social care” and “accommodation”. In the combi for social care, stretchers, medical supplies, blankets and tags for the injured and other material for registration were carried. The station wagon, on the other hand, carried material for the construction and furnishing of temporary accommodation, such as camp beds, tools and lamps. Over the years, the equipment and the data sheets have been further developed into today's care combinations.
