Bettina Alms
Bettina Alms (* 1964 in Wiesbaden ; also known as Bettina Kahl ) is a German recorder , violinist , singer and music teacher , best known among others through the duo Sören and Bettina .
Life
After graduating from high school in 1983, Bettina Alms began studying instrumental teaching with a major in recorder under Professor Schneider at the Frankfurt University of Music , which she graduated in 1986 with "summa cum laude". In 1990 she completed a subsequent degree at the Dr. Hoch's Conservatory in Frankfurt majoring in violin.
Already in the early nineties the musician established herself in the Christian music scene through collaboration with a wide variety of influential producers such as Siegfried Fietz , Margret Birkenfeld , Jochen Rieger , Dirk Schmalenbach and Klaus Heizmann . In addition, together with her then husband Sören Kahl, she formed the singing duo Sören and Bettina , whose debut album was released in 1994 by Schulte & Gerth . The couple released their last album together in 2000. In 2005 the marriage was divorced.
In 1995 Bettina Alms' first instrumental solo album was released by Anker Musik under the title Tanz der Flöte , produced and arranged by David Plüss . Numerous other albums and concept projects with various producers and record labels followed.
Bettina Alms performs live and on television at home and abroad with a concert program of instruments and vocals between classical and pop. She also holds interactive flute seminars.
Her son Björn Amadeus Kahl also makes music and was part of the 4th season of The Voice of Germany .
Awards
In 2016, Alms won the German Rock & Pop Prize in the “Best Wind Instrument” category and the “Hessian Lion” from hr television .
