Heike Wetzel
Heike Wetzel (* 20th century in Zwickau ; real name: Heike Wetzel Yates ) is a German flautist .
Life
After Heike Wetzel had received flute lessons at the Robert Schumann Conservatory in Zwickau from the age of ten , she studied in Dresden and Nuremberg as well as in Konrad Hampe's master class at the University of Music in Würzburg .
Since then she has performed both as a soloist and chamber musician throughout Europe and Japan , was active in the Philharmonic Orchestra of Nuremberg of the Nuremberg State Theater and won several competitions. Besides, she was for many years responsible for the training of musicians from Yehudi Menuhin launched live music concerts Now (LMN) in Franconia. She has been a member of the European Academy for Culture and the Arts since 2002 and leads workshops and master classes for flute . She is also a lecturer at the Otto Friedrich University in Bamberg .
Heike Wetzel can be heard as a flutist on numerous productions. In addition to her solo albums, she made recordings with Bayerischer Rundfunk , SWR , ZDF , ERF television and others. In terms of style, she moves between the areas of classic, pop and jazz and combines them.
She is also a flutist in several ensembles . With that of Johannes Nitsch launched In Motion Trio , she has performed, among others, on the Hapag-Lloyd cruise ship Europe , the Grand Hotel Quellenhof of the Grand Resort Bad Ragaz in Bad Ragaz , Switzerland , or at congresses of the Leipziger Messe . With pianist Susanne Bunya she forms the Ullstein Duo , with Klaus Heizmann and mezzo-soprano Daniela Jooß-Kesselmeyer she has given passion concerts with slide shows, readings, new songs and classical works, together with Michael Schlierf she plays a chorale project and is a flautist at the soiree Concerts under the artistic direction of Walter Anderle. For years she was a member of the cabaret group Lizzy and the white lilies around Lizzy Aumeier and the Bamberg Bach Soloists .
Heike Wetzel Yates is married to the English photographer Paul Yates.
