Bettina de Cosnac
Bettina de Cosnac (* 1960 in Berlin ) is a German - French journalist and author.
Life
Born in Berlin, she studied French , English and comparative literature at the Technical University of Berlin and as a scholarship holder of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) at the Université François Rabelais in Tours . In 1988 she received her dissertation at the Technical University of Berlin on Das Café-théâtre as a cultural document of the times. History, genre, reception for Dr. phil. PhD .
Before and during her doctorate, she worked as a freelance journalist for various print media and television stations in Germany and France. She has lived in Paris since 1995 and worked from there initially for the ZDF studio Western Europe, then as a freelance France correspondent for Deutsche Welle-TV, among others . She also works for television as a consultant and interview partner for a number of ZDF documentaries and programs, mainly about the Principality of Monaco and the Grimaldi family . Most recently in 2016.
Since 2000 she has also emerged as an author of books in German and French . Her biographies of the Princely Family of Monaco (2002) and the German entrepreneurial family Riegel (2003) received great attention from the public and critics . In 2008, on the occasion of her 100th birthday, she presented the first biography of Gisèle Freund . Bettina de Cosnac met the important Franco-German photographer, who died in 2000, in Berlin in 1988 during an interview and in other meetings.
Bettina de Cosnac also held teaching positions at CELSA, a journalism and communication college affiliated with the Sorbonne , from 2005-2015.
In 2011 she received a grant as Artist in Residence at La Roche-Guyon Castle (Val d'Oise), which she used to work on a musical production of Le Désert de Retz - Carnet de voyage .
In 2012, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Franco-German Elysée Treaty, she founded Monumentum Nostrum, the first Franco-German park, garden and monument magazine. The online magazine, of which she has remained the publisher and editor-in-chief to this day, is dedicated to the preservation of monuments in France and Germany.
In 2016 she received the European Garden Book Award at Schloss Dennenlohe for the horticultural biography "Jardins d'Histoire et sans histoire ..." written in French by an American living in France, a special prize for the originality of the idea, work and style.
Bettina de Cosnac lives with her family in Germany and France. She is a member of the French nobility association ANF for charity.
