history

The district of Beuren an der Aach was possibly settled early on, from the expansion of the Alemanni in the 9th century . Grave finds of two skeletons in the corridors “auf den Sandäckern” and “Breite”, which were without additions, are no longer available, so that it is no longer possible to determine the age.

In a document issued in Rome from the year 1204 in which a Beuren is mentioned, it could not be proven that Beuren an der Aach was meant. In contrast, a document from 1228, issued by the St. Gallen Abbot Konrad von Bussnang , shows that all goods belonging to Diethelm von Friedingen-Krähen were donated to the in "Burron et in Vridingen" (Beuren an der Aach and Friedingen) Salem Monastery , which documents the clear first mention of the place Beuren an der Aach.

The place name "Burron" - during the 14th century "Wasserbüren" - is derived from the Old High German bu (house) and means something like the house . Beuren most likely belonged to the Reichenau monastery . Vogteireche came to the Lords of Möggingen at an unknown time . From the end of the 14th century until 1539 the local rule was with the Lords of Friedingen . After that she changed several times before she came to Reichlin von Meldegg before 1557. Beuren was married to the Vogt von Alten-Summerau and Praßberg family in the 17th century . In 1767 the von Liebenfels family bought the village. In 1806 it came to Württemberg, in 1810 to Baden. Beuren was incorporated into Singen on April 1, 1972 and left the Stockach district .
