Schlössle Meldegg

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Schlössle Meldegg is a castle in Beuren an der Aach , a district of Singen (Hohentwiel) in the Baden-Württemberg district of Konstanz .

The castle presumably emerged from a moated castle , the time of which is unknown. The castle was first mentioned in writing in 1568, but the lords of Bodman-Möggingen probably already had their seat there in the late Middle Ages. Between 1554 and 1677, the place was owned by the lords of Reichlin-Meldegg, to whom the popular name Schlössle Meldegg goes back . In 1663, after Anna Reichlin von Meldegg's marriage, the estate fell to Johann Baptist von und zu Hornstein , after which the owner changed more frequently. In the 19th century, the facility was redesigned, with most of the outbuildings such as barns, stables and farmhouses being demolished. Around 1847 an inn with a mill was built on the site, which existed until 1982. Today the castle is in a garden and cannot be visited.
