Beyond Description is a Japanese crossover band from Tokyo that was founded in 1988.
history
The band was formed in 1988. After the release of several demos , the EP More Power to Your Elbow was released in 1992 on the American label Desperate Attempt Records . The group received worldwide attention from radio stations as well as magazines and fanzines. This allowed her to perform live more often. In 1997 they went on a tour through Germany with Boot Down the Door . In 2000 and 2004, Acts of Sheer Madness and A Road to a Brilliant Future were released, the first two albums. In 2005 they went on another tour through Germany, which was followed by one through Italy the following year . In 2011 and 2013, two more albums followed with Proof of the Truth and An Elegy of Depletion . In the summer of 2016, the recording of the fifth album The Robotized World began in Studio Life , which ended towards the end of the year.
style
According to the band biography on punishment18records.com, it was initially a hardcore punk band that was influenced by Japanese groups such as Outo , SOB , Zouo and Mobs, as well as by European bands such as Ripcord and Balthasar Gerards Kommando . aversionline.com described the music on A Road to a Brilliant Future as a crossover of hardcore punk and thrash metal . The music is rawer, faster and a bit more typical of the genre than that of Urban Head Raw . In the songs, the group processed a few solos , Thrash Metal rhythms and shouts of medium intensity. The texts are often socio-political comments or deal with personal problems, but without going into detail. Ollie Fröhlich from Ox-Fanzine also described the album Proof of the Truth as a crossover of hardcore punk and thrash metal. The band then sounds as if they had stopped musically at the end of the 1980s, and sounded a lot like Attitude Adjustment or Sacred Reich . The album features angry guitar riffs , fast and simple drumming and a “puked singer” who sounds like a brother of James Hetfield . Stephanie Hensley from metal-temple.com described An Elegy for Depletion as a mixture of hardcore punk and thrash metal that is fast, aggressive and brutal. The vocals growled and show similarities to James Hetfield, with the lyrics in Japanese . Overall, the album is suitable for fans of DRI , early Metallica , Municipal Waste and Sepultura .
