Matthias Rossi (born January 9, 1991 in Menziken ) is a Swiss ice hockey player who has been under contract with Friborg-Gottéron in the National League since the 2017/18 season .

Career

Rossi learned to play ice hockey with the SC Reinach juniors before moving to the EV Zug junior team . For the Central Swiss, the right wing made its debut in the top division of Switzerland, the National League A, in the 2010/11 season . In the aftermath, however, he was never really able to assert himself with the Zugers, so that he was loaned out several times to the NLB for HC Thurgau .

For the 2013/14 season he moved to the National League B for EHC Basel . After the club went bankrupt in the summer of 2014, Rossi joined the EHC Biel , where he won a regular place straight away. In the same season Rossi made his debut for the Swiss national ice hockey team .

For the 2017/18 season , the striker moved to Friborg-Gottéron . He signed a three-year contract with the Saanestowners.
