Flavio Schmutz (born October 8, 1994 in Andwil TG ) is a Swiss ice hockey player who plays for Friborg-Gottéron in the National League .

career

Born in Andwil, he played in the offspring of SC Weinfelden and EHC Oberthurgau . In 2011 he ventured abroad and switched to the junior division of the Swedish club VIK Västerås HK . "It was the best decision I could make," said Schmutz in September 2015 to the Freiburger Nachrichten, looking back on his move to Sweden.

After three seasons in the Swedish junior league, he returned to his home country and played for the Rapperswil-Jona Lakers in the National League A in the 2014/15 season . Due to a shoulder injury, however, had to sit out for a long time. After relegating to the NLA with Rapperswil, he moved to Friborg-Gottéron in 2015 , thus remaining in the top division.

National team

Schmutz came to international matches for Switzerland in the age groups U16, U17, U18, U19 and U20.
