District Office Schliengen

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The district office Schliengen , also: Amt Schliengen or Oberamt Schliengen , was a short-lived state administrative district in the Grand Duchy of Baden , which existed from 1803 to 1810 and whose communities today almost all belong to the district of Lörrach .

history

After the bailiff of Schliengen fell to the Electorate of Baden on November 30, 1802, Baden regulated the new administrative organization in the 6th Organizational Edict of March 9, 1803. Here, the villages of the former Schliengen bailiwick were assigned to the Rötteln (Istein and Huttingen) and Badenweiler (Schliengen, Mauchen, Steinenstadt). Within the Oberamt Badenweiler there was a Unteramt Schliengen, which was headed by Karl Ludwig Barck.

In 1805, an independent office Schliengen was created again, which, in addition to the three localities of the previous sub-office, was enriched by the villages of Istein and Huttingen, which were replaced by the upper office of Rötteln, as well as 8 other localities that previously belonged to the upper office of Rötteln.

When the Baden district administration was reorganized in 1807, the previous offices of Schliengen and Badenweiler were left unchanged and both were designated as senior offices.

As part of another reorganization of the district administration, the Schliengen office was dissolved in 1810. The localities were assigned to the new district offices of Lörrach and Kandern . The previous head of department Barck became the second official at the Emmendingen Oberamt.

After the dissolution of the Kandern district office in 1819, all of the former municipalities of the Schliengen office except Schliengen, Mauchen and Steinenstadt came to the Lörrach district office - the three municipalities to the Müllheim district office .

Through the law on the redistribution of internal administration of June 30, 1936 , Hertingen and Tannenkirch were allocated to the district of Müllheim on October 1, 1936 from the municipalities concerned here. With effect from January 1, 1973, the district of Müllheim was dissolved and the two communities came to the district of Lörrach.

Steinenstadt is now part of the Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district . All other communities of the former Schliengen office are now in the Lörrach district .
