Bicknell is a place in Wayne County in the US state of Utah . It is on State Route 24. The population in 2000 (according to the US Census Bureau ) was 353 people.
history
Bicknell was formerly called Thurber Town , named after AK Thurber, who built the first house here in 1875. In 1897 the place was relocated due to poor water conditions and the sandy soil.
geography
According to the US Census Bureau, the place has a size of 1.2 km². Bicknell is located between the Dixie National Forest and Fishlake National Forest in the Rabbit Valley 17 miles west of the Capitol Reef National Park Visitor Center. Bicknell is 2172 m above sea level.
