The Bielstein is 393.6 m above sea level. NN high mountain in the Teutoburg Forest in the Lippe district in North Rhine-Westphalia . Its summit is the highest point in the Ems catchment area .
Geographical location
The Bielstein belongs to the Lippe Forest, a southeastern part of the Teutoburg Forest. It rises around 2.5 km (as the crow flies ) southwest of Hiddesen , a district of Detmold . To the east and northeast of the Bielstein lies the Heidental, which runs in a north-south direction and through which the Heidenbach flows. Beyond this valley, the mountain Grotenburg ( 386 m ) rises up, on which, among other things, the Hermann monument stands.
The forested mountain is part of the Eastern Teutoburg Forest nature reserve .
Transmitter and hiking
In addition to the Teutoburg Forest basic network transmitter, which was built in 1951, there are several other buildings on the mountain that belong to the transmitter system. An asphalt road from Hiddesen, which is only released for the management of the transmitter, leads up. In addition, there are many forest and hiking trails on and on the mountain .
