The Big River is a river in the east of the Australian state of Victoria and a headwaters of the Mitta Mitta River .

It rises on the western slopes of Mount Nelse North in the Alpine National Park , flows a few kilometers to the northwest, then turns to the east and after a few more kilometers to the southeast. At Anglers Rest it joins the Cobungra River to form the Mitta Mitta River.
