Bill Anthony
William "Bill" Anthony (* 28. March 1930 in New York City ) is an American jazz - bassist .
Bill Anthony studied bass with Clyde Lombardi , then played with Buddy DeFranco in 1950 , with Georgie Auld in 1951 , with Charlie Spivak in 1952 and with Jimmy Dorsey in 1953 . In 1954 he worked with Gerry Mulligan , in 1955 with Dick Garcia ( A Message from Garcia ), and Stan Getz, on whose Verve album At the Shrine he was involved. In 1956 Anthony was a member of the Claude Thornhill Orchestra; He was also involved in recordings of Tony Fruscella , Zoot Sims ( Goes to Jazzville , 1956) and Johnny Williams .
