William "Bill" Fagerbakke (born October 4, 1957 in Fontana , California ) is an American actor and voice actor . He lends his voice to Patrick Star in the animated series SpongeBob SquarePants .
Life
Fagerbakke attended Minico High School in Rupert , Idaho, as well as the University of Idaho and Southern Methodist University . Because of his height (1.98 m), he played football and acting roles like the assistant coach "Dauber" Dybinski in the sitcom Coach for a while .
He has been married to Catherine McClenahan since 1989 and has two daughters with her.
