Billain

Billain even Aethek , actually Adis Kutkut (born before 1996) is a Bosnian drum-and-bass - producer and sound designer from Sarajevo . He reached a broader public through numerous neurofunk publications and working with Frenkie and Edo Maajka .

Life

As a child, Billain was very much influenced by the Bosnian war . During the four-year siege of Sarajevo , he began to draw as a child in the basement, which later led to graffiti and his first own hip-hop productions.

In search of further possibilities to express his feelings arising from the war experiences, Billain taught himself firstly the production of techno and later of neurofunk . Before he published his own music, Billain became an integral part of the drum and bass collective Kontra , which organized numerous events with DJs such as Matrix & Optical , Teebee , Stakka & Skynet or Konflict in Sarajevo. His music is now being played on BBC Radio 1 and presented on the UKF electronic music platform.

In 2014, Billain designed and composed the sound design and music together with Sloven Anzulović for the reopening of the National Library of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sarajevo, which was destroyed in 1992 .

Billain also publishes artistic short films on the topics of technological singularity and artificial intelligence .

In 2016, Billain started his music project Aethek , with which he moved in the direction of the noise genre and largely dispensed with melodies in order to concentrate fully on sound design. Under this name he published the EP 1991 VG in 2017 .

In 2018, Adis Kutkut developed special synthesizer sounds for the films Pacific Rim: Uprising and Hunter Killer. He also composed the soundtrack for the survival horror computer game Scorn .
