history

Origin 1999–2000

FMJAM was created on December 13, 1999 as a radio broadcast on the Tuzlan radio station Radio Kameleon. The presenters of the program were Emir Alagić (DJ Soul) and Erol Tahirović. Hip-hop music and subculture were presented in the programs , which also led to initial contacts with local artists. Many other artists joined the group, including the "AOG" graffiti crew, the Dirty Angelz rap group, as well as the breakdance crew and the band Defense. In the year 2000 the first demo recordings were made by Edo Maajka , Frenkie , Dirty Angelz and Hamza. In the same year Edo Maajka and DJ Soul founded the hip-hop group Disciplinska Komisija . During this time FMJAM organized the first appearances and concerts.

2000-2001

The first hip-hop entertainment programs and FMJAM events were organized in early 2000 in various discos and nightclubs in Tuzlan. By expanding the reach of the Kameleon radio station, contacts with hip-hop artists from all over Bosnia and Herzegovina were established. The internet portal fmjam.com further popularized the Bosnian-Herzegovinian hip-hop subculture in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the former Yugoslavia and the Bosnian diaspora . Erol Tahirović started a branch in the radio show where several hip-hop artists were given the opportunity to introduce themselves via the radio show and / or the web portal in order to increase their reach. This led to a first major collaboration between several artists, creating an organized and unified hip-hop scene in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

2001-2008

In the following years, FMJAM's artists began releasing solo albums. In 2002 the Croatian music publisher Menart released the first album by Edo Maajka. In the following years, the collaboration between Edo Maajka, Frenkie and Defense grew stronger. In 2001, in addition to working on various albums, there were numerous side activities. This is also the name of a youth movement that is active in Bosnia and Herzegovina, to which Frenkie belongs and for which he promoted with the album. The aim of the movement is to fight for human rights, to take action against nationalism and nationalist parties and to fight for a better and more secure future in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The album was only released in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and all proceeds were donated to the youth movement.
