geography

course

The Birklichsgraben rises at a height of less than 240  m above sea level. NN on the Marktheidenfelder Platte from an intermittent source in an agricultural zone on the southern edge of a mixed forest southwest of the Kämmerich ( 293  m above sea level ) and north-northeast of Billingshausen directly south of the district boundary to Zellingen - Duttenbrunn .

The brook flows straight south through fields and meadows, then curves to the left and finally flows out at an altitude of about 230  m above sea level. NN almost one hundred and fifty meters southwest of the hamlet of Lindenhof from the right into the Grundgraben from the east .

Catchment area

The catchment area of the Birklichsgraben is about 3.0 km². It extends from the highest point in it at 331  m above sea level. NHN high summit of Lerchenberg north-northeast of Duttenbrunn a little over 3.5 km to the south to the mouth at about 230  m above sea level. NHN in the Grundbach; across it it is up to 1.5 km wide. Already above the source at the boundary of the district there is a waterless, recognizable valley called Seehauser Grund on the axis of the brook to the south, which begins approximately at the St 2437 from Duttenbrunn to Zellingen.

North of the watershed over the Lerchenberg lies the long initial section of the Ziegelbach river, which only carries water intermittently . Beyond the long eastern part, the still waterless Obertalmulde of the receiving basement trench runs south. To the west of the catchment area border , the Kettlichsgraben runs in the same direction , which unites a little downwards in Billingshausen with the Grundgraben to the Karbach .
