The Diocese of Abomey (Latin Dioecesis Abomeiensis , French Diocèse d'Abomey ) is a diocese of the Roman Catholic Church in Benin with its seat in Abomey . It includes the Zou department .
history
Pope John XXIII founded it with the Apostolic Constitution Christi iussum on April 5, 1963 from cessions of territory of the Diocese of Porto-Novo and the Archdiocese of Cotonou , to which it was also subordinated as a Suffragandiocese .
On June 10, 1995 it lost part of its territory to the Diocese of Dassa-Zoumé .
