The Bistum Bauchi ( lat. : Dioecesis Bauchianus ) is in Nigeria preferred Roman Catholic diocese based in Bauchi .

history

The diocese of Bauchi was established on July 5, 1996 by Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution Laudamus Dominum from cession of territory from the Archdiocese of Jos as the Apostolic Vicariate of Bauchi . The Apostolic Vicariate of Bauchi was raised to a diocese on December 31, 2003 by John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution Actuosae evangelizationis and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Jos as a suffragan .
