The Roman Catholic Diocese of Chingleput ( lat. : Dioecesis Chingleputensis ) is in India situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Chengalpattu (Chingleput). It covers the area of Kanchipuram District in Tamil Nadu State .
history
The Diocese of Chingleput was established on July 19, 2002 by Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution Cum ad provehendam aeternam from ceding territories of the Archdiocese of Madras-Mylapore and subordinated to this as a suffragan . First Bishop was Anthonisamy Neethinathan .
