The diocese of Lurín ( Latin Dioecesis Lurinensis , Spanish Diócesis de Lurín ) is a Roman Catholic diocese located in Peru .
Sprengel
The diocese comprises ten districts in the south of Lima. They are, from west to south, the districts of San Juan de Miraflores, Villa El Salvador, Villa María del Triunfo, Pachacámac, Lurín (the eponymous district), Punta Hermosa, Punta Negra, San Bartolo, Santa María del Mar and Pucusana.
history
The diocese of Lurín was established on December 14, 1996 from cessions of territory from the Archdiocese of Lima and subordinated to this as a suffragan . Auxiliary Bishop Germán Schmitz had done the preparatory work for the foundation .
