history
The diocese Primavera do Leste-Paranatinga was established on June 25, 2014 by Pope Francis from ceding territories of the dissolved diocese of Guiratinga and the dissolved territorial prelature Paranatinga and subordinated to the archbishopric of Cuiabá as a suffragan diocese. The first bishop was Derek John Christopher Byrne SPS .
