Derek John Christopher Byrne
Derek John Christopher Byrne SPS (born January 17, 1948 in Dublin ) is an Irish religious and Roman Catholic bishop of Primavera do Leste-Paranatinga .
Life
Derek John Christopher Byrne joined the Order of St. Patrick's Society for Foreign Missions , made profession on October 1, 1969 , and was ordained a priest on June 9, 1973 .
Pope Benedict XVI appointed him Bishop of Guiratinga on December 24, 2008 . He was ordained episcopate on March 22nd of the following year by the Archbishop of Cuiabá , Mílton Antônio dos Santos SDB ; Co- consecrators were Richard Anthony Burke SPS, Archbishop of Benin City , and Neri José Tondello , Bishop of Juína .
With the division of the diocese of Guiratinga and the connection of territorial parts with the territorial prelature Paranatinga to the diocese Primavera do Leste-Paranatinga on June 25, 2014 he was appointed its first bishop.
