The territorial prelate Paranatinga ( lat. : Territorialis Praelatura Paranatinguensis ) was in Brazil located Roman Catholic territorial prelate based in Paranatinga in the state of Mato Grosso . In the course of the reorganization of the ecclesiastical province of Cuiabá, it went up on June 25, 2014 in the newly established diocese Primavera do Leste-Paranatinga .

history

The territorial prelature Paranatinga was established on December 23, 1997 by Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution Ecclesia sancta from cedings of the dioceses of Barra do Garças , Rondonópolis and Sinop and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Cuiabá as a suffragan .

On June 25, 2014, Pope Francis established the diocese Primavera do Leste-Paranatinga , into which the territorial prelature was incorporated.
