The Roman Catholic Diocese of Sinop ( lat. : Dioecesis Sinopensis ) is in Brazil located Roman Catholic diocese based in Sinop in the state of Mato Grosso .

history

The diocese of Sinop was established on February 6, 1982 by Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution Quo aptius from cessions of territory from the Archdiocese of Diamantina and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Cuiabá as a suffragan .
