Henrique Froehlich
Henrique Froehlich SJ (born November 22, 1919 in Cêrro Alegre , † December 28, 2003 in Sinop ) was a Brazilian religious and Roman Catholic bishop of Sinop .
Life
Henrique Froehlich joined the Jesuit order and was ordained a priest on December 3, 1952 .
Pope Paul VI appointed him on November 29, 1971 as prelate of Diamantino and titular bishop of Iomnium . The Archbishop of Porto Alegre , Cardinal Alfredo Vicente Scherer , donated him episcopal ordination on February 20th of the following year ; Co- consecrators were Antônio Barbosa SDB , Bishop of Campo Grande , and Alberto Frederico Etges , Bishop of Santa Cruz do Sul .
On May 26, 1978 he renounced his titular bishopric as part of the new allocation guidelines of the Roman Curia . On December 4, 1979, the territorial prelature was raised to the diocese and he was appointed the first bishop of Diamantino.
Pope John Paul II appointed him on March 25, 1982 as the first bishop of the newly established Sinop diocese . On March 22, 1995, John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
