The Roman Catholic Diocese of Punalur ( Lat. : Dioecesis Punalurensis ) is in India situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Punalur .

history

The diocese was established on December 21, 1985 by Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution Verba Christi from cessions of territory from the diocese of Quilon and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Verapoly as a suffragan . On June 17, 2004, the diocese of Punalur was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Trivandrum as a suffragan.

The diocese includes the district Pathanamthitta and some taluks in the districts of Alappuzha and Kollam in the state of Kerala .
