The Diocese of Solwezi ( Latin Dioecesis Solveziensis , English Diocese of Solwezi ) is in Zambia situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Solwezi .

history

Pope John XXIII founded the Apostolic Prefecture Solwezi with the Apostolic Constitution Quandoquidem haec on April 9, 1959 from cession of territory by the Apostolic Vicariate Ndola .

On December 9, 1976, she was raised to the diocese, which was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Lusaka as a suffragan diocese.
