The Diocese of Uyo ( Latin Dioecesis Uyoensis , English Diocese of Uyo ) is in Nigeria situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Uyo .
history
The Diocese of Uyo was established on July 4, 1989 by Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution Studio postulatoque from cessions of territory from the Diocese of Calabar .
It is subordinate to the Archdiocese of Calabar as a suffragan .
