The Diocese of Yan'an ( lat. : Dioecesis Iennganensis ) is in the People's Republic of China Located Roman Catholic diocese based in Yan'an .

history

The diocese of Yan'an was founded on October 15, 1696 by Pope Innocent XII. established with the Apostolic Constitution E sublimi Sedis from cessions of territory of the Diocese of Nanking as the Apostolic Vicariate of Shaanxi . In 1712 the Apostolic Vicariate Shaanxi was renamed to Apostolic Vicariate Shaanxi and Shanxi after the area of ​​the disbanded Apostolic Vicariate Shanxi was added. On February 3, 1844, the Apostolic Vicariate Shaanxi and Shanxi was divided into the Apostolic Vicariates Shaanxi and Shanxi . The Apostolic Vicariate Yan'an was on April 11, 1946 by Pope Pius XII. raised to a diocese with the Apostolic Constitution Quotidie Nos and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Xi'an as a suffragan .
