Bixi (bike rental system)

Bixi is a station-bound bike rental system in 2009 Montreal ( Canada was introduced). It was later introduced under the same name in other Canadian cities and under different names in other cities around the world. It has now become one of the most widely used flexible bike sharing systems in the world. The system was developed by the Société de vélo en libre service (also Public Bike System Company ; PBSC) from Montreal and is partly operated by them.

On January 20, 2014, PBSC announced that it would file for bankruptcy , but operations continue.
