Somerville is a city in Middlesex County in the US state of Massachusetts , north of Boston . The census in 2000, according to the city had 77,478 inhabitants at that time. With an area of just over 10 km², it is the most densely populated parish in New England .
Somerville, which at that time was still predominantly rural, was founded in 1842 by separating from the city of Charlestown .
The city council decided on June 25, 2020 that polyamorous relationships can also be legally recognized.
