Bjorn Bobach

Björn Bobach (born August 31, 1973 in Solingen ) is a German blogger and entrepreneur in the software sector; until 2008 he worked as a professional opera singer ( tenor ).

Life

Björn Bobach received his vocal training from 1995–1998 at the Robert Schumann University in Düsseldorf . His teachers included u. a. Edith Wiens . In 1998 he received a scholarship from the Richard Wagner Association in Düsseldorf. He then studied 1998-2001 vocals / musical theater, Oratorium- and song singing, movement training and speech training at the University of Arts in Berlin . Here was u. a. the tenor Peter Maus his singing teacher. He also made his singing diploma at the Hochschule der Künste. He also attended master classes with Richard Miller, Anna Reynolds and Jean Cox during his studies . He was also a scholarship holder of the Académie musicale de Villecroze.

In October 2000 he appeared in a production of the opera Die Kluge with the Schöneberg Symphony Orchestra in the Saalbau Neukölln as a man with the donkey. Björn Bobach was already a guest at the Cologne Opera during his studies and was then engaged in the International Opera Studio of the Cologne Opera, of which he was a member from 2001-2003. He sang in several productions in the Great House of the Cologne Opera (including as steward of the Marschallin in Strauss' Der Rosenkavalier alongside Soile Isokoski in 2002 ) and in performances at the Cologne Children's Opera.

After his time in Cologne he became a permanent member of the ensemble at the Landestheater Coburg , where he was engaged from 2004–2008. There Bobach joined with rollers from the Department of Game Tenors , the Tenorbuffos and as a musical performer on. At the Landestheater Coburg he was mainly used in operettas and musicals , but also sang a few operatic roles there. The roles during his Coburg engagement included u. a. Dancairo in Carmen , Jan Janicki / Herzog Adam in Der Bettelstudent , Der Fremde in Der Vetter aus Dingsda , Stefan in Happy Journey (2008), Freddy Eynsford-Hill in My Fair Lady , the scarecrow in the musical The Wizard of Oz and Simon in Jesus Christ superstar . From January to July 2005 he sang the leading role of Seymour in the musical Der kleine Horrorladen at the Landestheater Coburg .

He had guest engagements at the Meiningen State Theater and the Chemnitz Opera House . In 1998 he took part with the RIAS Youth Orchestra under the musical direction of Hermann Bäumer in a radio recording of Paul Hindemith's “Opera Triptych” with three one-act acts, which was broadcast on Deutschlandradio . In addition to his stage work, Bobach also appeared as a concert singer. His concert repertoire includes works by Bach , Haydn , WA Mozart and Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy . In 2008 Bobach ended his full-time singing career, but still performed occasionally as a concert singer. In December 2012 he sang the tenor part in the organ solo mass (KV 239) by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in the St. Martin Church in Langenfeld - Richrath .

Björn Bobach has been an entrepreneur and freelance system consultant since 2008. From October 2013 he worked as a software expert for Apple at Apple Retail Germany BV & Co. KG. He has translated the book Mac OS X Panther Configure and Administer , published by O'Reilly Verlag, into German. Since 2016 he has been working as a manager in the IT department in Düsseldorf.
