Björn Nuyts (born May 18, 1980 ) is a former Belgian ice hockey player who became Belgian champion in 2009 with HYC Herentals .

Career

Björn Nuyts began his career with the Phantoms Deurne , for which he made his debut in the Belgian first division in 1996 . In 1998 he moved to the Griffoens Geel for three years . After he played again in 2001/02 for his home club, which was now called Phantoms Antwerp, he moved to IHC Leuven . He then played for HYC Herentals from 2005 to 2009 , where he was Belgian champion in his last season . He then returned to Leuven before ending his career at Turnhout White Caps from 2012 to 2014 .

International

For Belgium Nuyts took part in the junior division at the U18-D European Championship in 1998 . For the men's national team , he participated in the D World Championships in 1999 and 2000 and, after the changeover to the current division system, in the World Championships in Division II in 2002 , 2003 , 2006 , 2007 , 2009 , when he was voted the best player in his team, and 2011 part.
