Bjarne Arnulf Nerem (* 31 July 1923 in Oslo ; † 1. April 1991 ) was a Norwegian Jazz - Tenor saxophonist and clarinetist .

Live and act

Nerem played with various bands in Norway from 1947 to 1949, on ocean steamers in 1949 and mainly in Sweden from 1953 . There he worked with Ernie Englund in 1954, Lars Gullin in 1955/56, Ove Lind in 1958, Åke Persson and Andres Burman in 1959. During this time he was also making recordings with American musicians in Sweden such as Stan Getz , Roy Haynes , Joe Harris and Benny Bailey involved.

In 1962 he played in the orchestra of Bengt-Arne Wallin ( The Birth of Swedish Folk Jazz ), Jan Johansson , and in 1980 with Nils Lindberg . In 1988 he recorded the album Al Meets Bjarne with Al Gray in Norway . One of the few recordings under his own name took place in 1976/77 with Egil Kapstad and Jan Erik Kongshaug ( Everything Happens to Me ).
