Black River (Original: Black River ) is an American thriller from 2001 based on a story by Dean Koontz .
action
Science fiction author Bo Aikens' car is stolen in the small town of Black River. Other strange things happen, like his credit card is blocked and he receives calls from a stranger who seems to be very familiar with him. When he decides to leave the place, he realizes that it is not that easy to do.
In search of the reason, the mayor, who thinks he is talking to the ghost of his dead brother, gets in touch with a company that wanted to create an artificial intelligence . At the company he receives the information that the experiment failed. However, Bo realized that the opposite is the case and that this Artificial Intelligence lives and wants to build a utopian city in Black River.
The film ends with a sculptor who breaks down his car in Black River and Bo meets him. He writes him a message on a napkin that shows him the way out of town and warns him not to answer the phone. The sculptor still picks up the phone.
Reviews
"A rather absurd fantasy story that carelessly mixes elements from Kubrick's" 2001 "with Weir's" Truman Story "."
