Blame - The cradle of death (original title: Películas para no dormir: La culpa , alternative title: The Blame , The Secret Door , The Room Upstairs ) is a Spanish drama and horror television film , with Nieve de Medina and Montse Mostaza in the leading roles. Directed by Narciso Ibáñez Serrador , who also wrote the script based on a template by Luis Murillo . The film was part of the television film series Películas para no dormir , which in turn took up the basic idea of the Spanish TV film series Historias para no dormir realized by Serrador in the 60s and 80s .
The film was shown on Spanish television in 2006 and released directly on DVD in German-speaking countries on November 9, 2006 .

The plot of the television film takes place in Madrid in the 1970s , which were shaped by the ending of Franquism and a strong position of the Roman Catholic Church .
During this time, the young, single mother Gloria and her daughter Vicky are looking for affordable accommodation in Madrid. She works as a nurse in a hospital , where she meets the gynecologist Ana. Ana offers Gloria to move in with her. For the provision of the premises, two rooms on the upper floor, she should help in her private practice , which is on the ground floor.
Ana tries to gain the affection of Gloria and Vicky with small gifts. She also promotes the style of Gloria, so that she gets a more pleasing appearance. After a while, Ana asks Gloria if she can help with the abortions that she performs in her practice. Gloria agrees and thus gets an insight into the patient's reasons for an abortion.
