Lead phosphate is a chemical compound from the group of phosphates .

Occurrence

In the event of poisoning with lead or its compounds, this is deposited in the bones in the form of lead phosphate. When released in nature, lead shows a pronounced tendency to accumulate in the soil, which means that it can also be found there as poorly soluble lead phosphate if it is contaminated.

Extraction and presentation

Lead phosphate can be obtained by reacting lead acetate or lead nitrate with sodium phosphate .

safety instructions

Lead phosphate is classified as carcinogenic category 2 and germ cell mutagenic category 3A.
