Death of a Friend is a German TV film by Züli Aladağ from 2009 . It is the sixteenth episode of the Bloch television series .

action

Frank Rode was once a soldier in Afghanistan , now the Dr. Maximilian Bloch accept it. With Nele Seifert, the friend of his partner Clara Born, Frank stands in the garden every day to give her and her son Paul a feeling of security after the tragic death of Nele's husband Richard. Bloch suspects a post-traumatic stress disorder behind this . Richard Seifert was Frank's friend and he had tried to help him after the shot. A normal togetherness within the family with his wife Judith and their daughter Tina is hard to imagine. Bloch himself realizes that he is affected by the burnout syndrome , but he still wants to help his current client, whom he has taken in out of love for his partner, to fight his trauma.

Death of a Friend was filmed from November 13, 2008 to December 15, 2008 under the working title of collateral damage in Cologne and the surrounding area and premiered on September 16, 2009 as part of the ARD series “FilmWittwoch im Erste ” at 8:15 pm.

In the episode, the main actor Dieter Pfaff interprets Johnny Cash's country song Ring of Fire .

The critics of the television magazine TV Spielfilm gave the film the best possible rating, they pointed with the thumbs up. They stated: "War is an attack on the soul".
