The Blue Angels Motorcycle Club is an international motorcycle club founded in Scotland . He is one of the so-called onepercenters .

history

It was founded in 1963 in Glasgow , Scotland , making it one of the oldest motorcycle clubs in Europe. Tommy Howells, Lenny Reynolds and Alan Morrison formed the club. The naming was influenced by Scotland's national color. At the beginning, "Sunday Runs" were organized, excursions that took place regularly on Sundays and which led to the expansion of the club. Especially in the 1960s there were clashes with the mods and hostile clubs. Later other chapters were founded. Today there are three chapters in Scotland (Glasgow, West Coast and South East), three in England ( Leeds , Lake District and York ). There are other chapters in Belgium ( Limburg , Antwerp , South West and Gent ).

The coat of arms, the so-called "Colors", were adapted by similar American clubs. The club logo is a winged skull of the Waffen SS with a helmet. A swastika in a yellow-red coat of arms can be seen on the helmet . "Blue" is written above the head, "angels" and the respective chapter below. The font is a mix of Gothic and Celtic characters. To the left of the head is a “1%” patch , to the left of it the date of foundation “est. 1963 ". The logo was legally protected in 1997. With the Belgian Blue Angels, the helmet bears the colors of the Belgian flag instead of the swastika . The numerical code for the Blue Angels is "21" (2 = second letter in the alphabet = B, 1 = first letter in the alphabet = A). Club mottos are “Blue Angels OK” and “Blue Angels, Best in the west”. One nickname is "The Blue Gang".
