Bones MC was a German motorcycle club that existed from 1968 to 1999. Until its takeover (" patch over ") by the Hells Angels MC Germany , the Bones MC was one of the "oldest and probably most powerful motorcycle clubs in Germany."

Beginnings

Larry Coleman founded the motorcycle club originally reserved for US soldiers in Frankfurt am Main in 1968 . One of the founders was the comic artist Gene L. Thoms. The patch, or club badge, consisted of a bone hand on black fabric on the back of the denim jacket. Back then, according to Larry Coleman, “ MAD had a story about the dangers of smoking. A bony hand holding a cigarette was shown as an illustration. We thought the cartoon was very funny and decided it would be our Colors and we call ourselves BONES. ”“ Most of the members rode BMW motorcycles , but some also rode BSA , Triumph or Norton , and when the Honda CB 750 Four came out, of course also the."

Proximity to crime and patch over

In the course of its existence, the club developed, according to a confidential BKA situation report on rocker crime, "undoubtedly the most criminal activities in Germany". Individual members tried to "gain a foothold in the legal business world with guards and security services". "In particular, admission controls in front of discotheques were used to control the trade in synthetic drugs ". In November 1999 16 of a total of 21 local groups ( chapters ) of the Bones MC joined the rival , much smaller Hells Angels Germany , which at the time consisted of 6 charters . With this the Bones MC ceased to exist in Germany. The Old Bone Mannheim Support 81 saw themselves as successors in their original position in Germany until they were retired .
