Devils Diciples

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Devils Diciples Motorcycle Club ( DDMC ) is an outlaw motorcycle club based in Fontana , California that was founded in 1967. The club is not recognized by the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) and is therefore counted among the Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs. This designation is not a rating of the club's crime rate.

history

Originally the club had twelve members, hence the name "Disciples" (Eng. "Disciples", cf. Apostle ). The incorrect spelling “Diciples” is intentional. The club logo consists of two crossed trident in front of a motorcycle. The numeric code is 44.

Today the club has chapters in Alabama , Arizona , California , Illinois , Indiana , Michigan, and Ohio . The club’s headquarters are in Clinton Charter Township , Michigan, Port Huron , Michigan, and Detroit . Their number is estimated at around 150 members. Well-known bounty hunter and television star Duane Chapman was a member of the club for a while.

There are three other chapters in England. The oldest was founded in Greater Manchester in 1969 . Another chapter followed in north Manchester and another in Cumbria . In 1979 a chapter was founded in Dublin , Ireland. These clubs each use a devil's head instead of the US patch. The English is red and white, the Irish green.

Controversy

The Hells Angels -member John R. Bartolomeo currently serving a 35-year sentence because he was a Devils Diciples member killed on June 29 1995th Phil Muollo, a US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) agent who was infiltrated into the Hells Angels , said Bartolomeo was a "prospect" of the Hells Angels and murdered a member of the rival gang To become a full member.

Since 1995, some members of the club have been suspected or charged with producing and distributing illegal substances. Most of them are methamphetamine , in Arizona they are considered cocaine dealers. In November 2006 the United States District Court in Detroit sentenced two members and five associate members. The seven people made methamphetamine together. It was the first major methamphetamine case in Detroit.

A large-scale investigation began in the club in 2002 and was closed in 2009. This involved allegations of drug smuggling and trafficking. On April 2, 2009, 18 members were arrested by the Federal Bureau of Investigation , including the president of the club. A total of 42 firearms, 3,000 cartridges, three bulletproof vests, 12,000 US dollars, 15 slot machines, 1,000 Vicodin and OxyContin pills, 1½ pounds of methamphetamine and 55 pounds of marijuana were seized . There was no conviction in any case.

The New Baltimore , Michigan district court judge was charged in April 2009 of providing special treatment to the club. He was a childhood friend of President Jeff Garvin Smith. Cassidy resigned after his home and office were raided. In 2011, California State University professor of kinesiology , Stephen J. Kinzey, was charged with smuggling methamphetamine while a member of the gang.
