Bluebird Nordic (formerly Bluebird Cargo ) is the brand name of Bláfugl ehf. It is an Icelandic cargo airline based in Kópavogur and based at Keflavík Airport .
history
Bluebird Nordic was founded in 2000 through the merger of several Icelandic businesspeople and started operating cargo flights about a year later, in March 2001. Operations between Iceland, the United Kingdom and Germany started with just one aircraft . Over time, more and more Boeing 737s joined the fleet, including a used 737-400 that was converted into a cargo aircraft . Until 2010 it was a subsidiary of Icelandair . Avia Solutions Group took over the airline in January 2020 .
