Bluffdale is a city in Salt Lake County in the US state of Utah . The name is derived from the bluffs ( English cliffs ) on the banks of the Jordan .

Bluffdale is bordered by Herriman to the northwest , Riverton to the north and Draper to the east .

The population density is 110.4 / km². Ethnically, the city is 96.96% white. The median household income was US $ 66,615; the median income for men was $ 50,136 and for women $ 23,469; the per capita income was $ 17,813. 0.2% of the population lived below the poverty line .

The polygamous sect of the Apostolic United Brethren has its headquarters in Bluffdale.

The National Security Agency built the largest data storage facility in the United States, the Utah Data Center , in Bluffdale .
