Blumegg is a district of the Baden-Württemberg city ​​of Stühlingen in the Waldshut district .

Blumegg is located on a hill 667 m above sea level above the Wutach Gorge .

The municipality of Blumegg had an area of 6.77 km². The current area is 6,579,694 m² or 6.58 km².

history

Remnants of the wall and a coin belonging to Emperor Domitian were discovered in 1880 from Roman times . In the 13th century, the lords and knights of Blumegg emerged from a sideline of the lords of Blumberg . In 1645, Blumegg Castle was finally burned on the orders of Louis de Nogaret de La Valette , a son of Jean Louis de Nogaret de La Valette , after it had been damaged in the Peasants' War in 1577. Blumegg gave its name to the St. Blasische Amt Blumegg of the imperial rule Bonndorf , which included the villages of Achdorf , Aselfingen , Dillendorf , Eschach, Ewattingen , Fützen , Grimmelshofen , Lausheim , Opferdingen and Überachen . In 1820 a fire destroyed 25 houses. Joseph Victor von Scheffel was often a guest in Blumegg and in his poem Juniperus sang the Wutach Valley and Blumegg Castle.

On January 1, 1973, Blumegg was incorporated into the city of Stühlingen.
