Boštjan Hladnik

Boštjan Hladnik (born January 30, 1929 in Kranj ; † May 30, 2006 in Ljubljana , Slovenia ) was a Yugoslav and Slovenian film director trained at the Academy for Theater, Radio, Film and Television . In the 1960s he was one of the most important representatives of Novi Film .

His film "Dance in the Rain" (Ples v dežju), shot in 1961, was voted the best Slovenian film by a Slovenian jury in 2005. In Germany he made the films "Erotikon - Carousel of Passions" (1963, with Ingrid van Bergen ) and "Maibritt, the girl from the islands" (1964, with Gunnar Möller , Karl Schönböck and Hubert von Meyerinck ). His film "Masquerade" (Maškarada), shot in 1971, was banned in Yugoslavia due to excessive sexual freedom and only allowed again in the 1980s.
